Position Title: Trade Operations Specialist (Export/Import) - Japanese Bilingual
Employment Type: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Salary Range: $22–$25 per hour + Annual Bonus
Work Style: 100% Onsite for the 1 month for training and hybrid or remote after the training period.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and flexible Trade Operations Specialist to join our team. This role involves managing ocean export/import operations, handling customer communications (mainly with Japanese companies), and providing accurate quotations. While English proficiency is required, Japanese language skills are a plus. The position offers a flexible work arrangement, including full remote options after the first month of onboarding.
Key Responsibilities:
Export/Import Operations:
- Handle the full cycle of sea freight export and import documentation.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations and company policies.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with Japanese clients, primarily in English.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
Quotations and Pricing:
- Prepare and present detailed shipping and logistics quotations to clients.
Internal Coordination:
- Work closely with the expatriates and local team members to ensure seamless operations.
- Coordinate with headquarters in Japan for operational alignment.
Work Arrangement:
- Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with flexible hours as needed.
- Full remote work available after the first month of in-office onboarding.
- On-site presence optional, based on employee preference.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ocean import and export operations.
- Knowledge of export/import procedures, particularly sea freight operations.
- Proficiency in English; Japanese language skills are a plus but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Proficiency in handling quotations and pricing documentation.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
